He has 18 years in Financial Services; first with A.G. Edwards then with United Community and now, an “Independent” with MasterPlan Retirement Consultants. Brian’s aim is to make certain retirees don’t outlive their income. He helps clients developing a written plan or “road map” to guide and then update when detours such as, changes in law, or the economy, or one’s personal life occur. Brian’s expertise includes Planning for Income, Tax Planning, Social Security Strategies, Legacy Planning and Conservative Investing Strategies, all with a focus on your retirement years. Whether retired or not, being on the right track is critical. Brian has been involved with such educational activities as a Board member for a local college for 14 years, a Home Educator, a Basketball Coach, and of course, providing educational classes like this one. Whether in front of a classroom full or one-on-one, Brian believes knowledge avoids snares and creates opportunities; especially financial knowledge. Brian is a Georgian. As a senior in, he was Region Basketball Player of the Year and earned a full athletic scholarship. He attended Southern Technical Institute, now known as Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) and graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. While in college, Brian was President of the F.C.A. and played guard for the SPSU basketball team which won District and a trip to the Nationals in Kansas City. He is a two time President of the Alumni Association and Past President of the Athletic Association. He has also held various positions with Boy Scouts of America, Troop 89. Brian spent the early part of his career traveling in the plastics industry. He is an ordained Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and is a member of North Cobb Rotary. Brian has been married 33 years to Melanie Slate Adams and has a large, large family – five grandchildren and counting.
